Thanks to Erik Meijer and Patrick Strouken. And their support to DJSTOPALS. Erik Meijer is a retired Dutch footballer. Header specialist.
He broke through in the early 1990s at Dutch Eredivisie club MVV Maastricht and PSV Eindhoven in 1994. He moved to German Bundesliga and Bayer 04 Leverkusen.Meijer moved to Liverpool F.C.
He last worked as director of sports for Alemannia Aachen. He returned to the Bundesliga and joined Hamburger SV in December 2000. Meijer scored two goals in his time at Anfield, both coming in a League Cup.Meijer was voted 99th in the fan-based poll, 100 Players Who Shook The Kop.
Then moving to Bundesliga club Alemannia Aachen, in 2003, where he had lots of success. In the autumn of his career, his strong play and dressing room presence propelled Aachen into the DFB-Pokal finals in 2003–04, losing to Werder Bremen, but earning a ticket into the UEFA Cup (as Bremen were German champions) and rejuvenating Alemannia financially. He was also named captain for the first time in his career. Meijer also was essential for Aachen's promotion into the Bundesliga after 36 years, in 2005–06.
Meijer ended his career that summer, stating he wanted to finish in style after this last big success. Now he participates in many triathlons.Ever since IRONMAN came to Maastricht he was a part of it.Patrick Strouken is my lifelong friend. He drove 752 road races in his career and won 158 of them. He also won 44 track races and 5 cyclocross races. He was a member of the National Selection for 4 years. (2 years junior and 2 years amateur). His greatest weapon was his final sprint and his explosiveness, especially on short steep climbs. He could also do a good prologue for a sprinter and fairly uphill. He also possessed a good understanding of the course. On the track he stood his ground in almost all areas, as he was very fast and fairly all-round. In Limburg. He was regarded as the greatest cycling talents of the 80s and 90s. As a salesmanager for Bioracer he now helps and sponsors me and DJMATHON in our battle against ALS. And introduced us to many of these amazing atletes like Eric Meijer, Bas Diederen and Ad Wijnands🙏🏽
